  1. When the smoke goes up straight from the chimney it is the sign of fine weather, and when the smoke falls to the ground it is going to rain. When the swallows are flying high it is the sign of fine weather and when they are flying low it is going to rain. If the sun rises red it will rain and if it goes down red it will be fine weather. When the clouds are going towards the west it is a sign of fine weather and when they are going east it is a sign of rain.
