We are told that if you rob a swallows nest the cows would milk blood. The Cuckoo builds no nest of her own. She lays her egg in another birds nest. The Robin builds her nest in a hole in a ditch or a wall. We are told that the Robin got a red breast by trying to pick the nails from "Our Lords Hands" and the blood fell on her breast.
The Black-bird builds her nest in a bush. She lays about five eggs. The wren builds her nest in a sgeach or in a bush. She lays about twenty eggs. The Thrush builds her nest in a bush or in a sgeach. The Sparrow builds her nest in the eaves of houses. She lays about four eggs.
