“In the year 1798 two Irish soldiers were going to France to join the Irish Brigade.”
They had a foot of gold with them but it was too heavy to carry. They buried it on the Rock of barrigbyne (adamstown, Co Weseford, Bantry) They returned after a couple of years to look for the gold but they could not find it. The gold is there still. It is said that it is under an "A" stone, but nobody can find it.- Collector
