- There is a place near Edenderry called Ballymacwilliam. It is said that when William was going to fight the Battle of the Boyne, his son refused to go with him the whole way. He broke off from his father in Edenderry and came in the direction of Rhode.
He camped in Ballymacwilliam, and when he was leaving, he wrecked the monastery.
It was always called Ballymacwilliam after this-"The town of Williams son." - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
