    Bhí fear oibre ann dar b'ainm do Ó Colgáin. Bhí sé ag obair do Prodastuínach. B'éigean do bheith in a shuidhe agus imbun oibre go moch ar maidin agus, mar an gcéadna, san oidhche. Ní scaradh léithi go dteipeadh ar fad ar an solas.
    Lá dá raibh sé ag treabhadh chuir sé rud iongatach in uachtar - gé óir, agus dhá uibh dhéag d'ór leis.
    Bhailigh leis go ciúin a chuid struis agus thug aghaidh ar thigh comharsan.
    Bhuail an Prodastúnach leis.
    "Cá bhfuil do thriall? " ar seisean.
    "Níl uair arighthe as obair tagaithe fós"
    Muna n-dírigheann tú ar an obair arís bailigh a bhfuil agat agus imthigh as mo radharc."
