Nearly every field in this district has a name to distinguish it from other fields. The fields were named by the old Irish people and they still bear these names. There is a field in my mother's farm and it is known as "Shough" There is a forbidden bush in Shough."
There is a field near my house and it is called the "Model." It is called the "Model" because it is a fertile piece of land. There is a field in my grandfather's farm and it is called the "Island". It is called the Island because it is surrounded completely by four streams. Another field, in which there is a hill, on my grandfather's farm is called the "Barley Hill." It is called the "Barley Hill" because it grows barley better than any other crop.
There is a field in my uncle's farm and it is called "Coughlin's Garden". It is called "Coughlins Garden" because it was once owned by a man named Coughlin. "Coffeys Garden"(continues on next page)- Collector
