  1. Potatoes are sown on my father's farm each year. We only sow a rood of potatoes because we have not enough land to sow any more, and we sow the same amount each year. First of all my father tills the land. When it is well tilled he makes the drills. Then he puts farmyard manure in the drills. The woman of the house cuts the seed and the farmer's children spread the potatoes. When the seed is spread the farmer closes the drills. My father has a wooden plough and all the fittings except the plate are made of wood.
