  1. There was a certain man named Martin Minnock who lived in Kilpatrick and he went every night to his land in "Daire na n'abann" Castletown to mind sheep. One night at about twelve o'clock he saw a little man stepping out of the ditch. This man was followed by a crowd of other little men wearing red caps, known as fairies. Each fairy had a hurley in his hand. They all started to hurl and while they hurled no one spoke. The man watched them for an hour then they stopped and were not seen anymore. The went into the ditch.
