    Castletown. They were left on a table or on a chest to burn. They were also used by James Pendy, Deer Park about fifty years ago.
    Starch was made long ago from flour, milk and some hot water. These were mixed together and were put through the clothes then. There was a starch factory in Mrs Healy's field near the river and also a blue factory in Edward Flynn's field near the river Brosna but they cannot be seen now.
    Wool was spun by Nell Carroll and she make stockings from it and gave it to the people who would collect it for her or who would give anything for it.
    The people made their own baskets from sally rods. The small ones were called Coandies. They also made large ones for their cars which were called Cishes.
    The people made soap from potatoes long ago
