- Travelling Folk
Many travelling folk visit our district. Some of them are better off than others, and they can afford better comforts.
They have tents drawn by horses, and usually travel in tribes. The men mend and make all tin articles, while the women cook, tidy the tents and gather sticks and furze bushes for firewood.
There is a certain branch of these folk called "Gipsies" and they make their living by fortune telling. The most popular of these is "Caseys" and they come in the Summer.
