scissors, needles, thread, a sewing machine and sprinkler.
The cloth out of which the clothes are made is not spun locally, but comes mostly from Dublin. Sombre clothes are worn at funerals, and very bright clothes are worn at weddings, in the Summer, and on festivals.
Some people supply their own material for the clothes, but some like to get the tailor or dressmaker to order the material, and they choose it from pattern.
A lot of jumpers are knit in the homes, and socks and stockings are also knit. In former years the tailor went from house to house and spent two or three days in each house making clothes for the year, but now that is not done; if anyone requires anything made, they go to the tailors house.
