  1. In our district the old people say that the following signs foretell the coming of rain. The rainbow appearing across the sky. When the faraway mountains appear near. when the doors begin to crack, when the swallows and crows fly low when the spider comes down the chimney, when the smoke comes out around the house, When the robin sings at the bottom of the bushes. When the wind blows from the South we generally have rain.
    When the robin flies up to the top of a tree and faces the wind and begins to sing it is a sign of fine Weather.
