  1. There is a Fairy Fort in the townland of Shinrone known as Guests Fort.
One day as Ben Guest was cutting the ditch around the fort he cut his finger and went mad. When he was better he said he would give any man ten shillings to cut the ditch. A man by the name of Ned Whelan said that he would cut the ditch if there was a fairy in every bush. He cut the ditch alright and got the money and died that night in bed.
