Longford and Kinnitty. It was hurled in the Queen's Park in Mr. J. Molloy's foe;d/ The referee was Father Culligan. The Longford's won the match. Father Culligan gave both sides the pledge the Sunday before the match. He said that which ever side would keep it the longer would win the match.
The Kinnitty hurlers broke the pledge and they were beaten. The hurling lasted for an hour. All the hurling matches that were hurled in this locality were hurled in the Queen's Park about two miles away.
