  1. A Funny Story
    There are the remains of a very ancient monastery outside Roscrea and the ruins are near a bog named Móin na h-Inse. The monastery was founded by St. Cronan. Some people think that a tunnel runs from St. John's Castle in the town of Roscrea but that it is impossible to follow the tunnel because the air is bad. The entrance at St. John's Castle is known but there is no entrance that is known of in the ruin of the monastery.
    When the Danes came to Ireland plundering and burning the monastery and churches the monks used barricade the monastery and hide. Nobody knows exactly where the hiding place is because the whole place has fallen to pieces from age. There are many tombstones and monuments
