    red as the blood and hair as black as the raven.
    Just then an old woman stood before her. She told her she would have a daughter but her twelve sons were taken away. The queen was satisfied and when the daughter was born the twelve sons were taken away.
    The girl was twelve years before she knew she had any brothers. After that she always wished to get her brothers. After a while she left home to seek her brothers. She kept going 'till she met an old woman. She told her she would get her brothers but she must make a shirt for everyone of them and she must make them from bog-cotton and she must pick it herself but she can never talk or cry.
    She started to work in a lonely garden. She had haf the work done when a prince saw her and he asked her to marry him. She made no answer but nodded her head. After a while he took her away and married her.
    His mother did not want her as she said she was only a woodcutter's daughter but he knew by her she was of noble birth. After a time twelve geese were often seen in the trees and flying over the house.
