- 8/11/37 A Haunted House
Long long ago it is said that David Murphy's house of Liselican near Ballymurphy Co. Carlow was haunted. They had to leave a bucket of water on the kitchen table every night and a good warm blazing fire on the hearth and leave mugs on the table for the dead to drink from. If this was left undone they would hear dreadful noise and the house would be shaking and the noise of the slates would keep them awake all night. When a cow was calving they would be called up out of bed and if they were staying up with a sow having young they would be put back [to] bed.
