- There is a fairy rath convenint to where I live. Everyone is afraid to interfere with it. Once the man on whose land it is went to fence it for a haggard. He had the fence only just started when all his cattle pigs and horses got sick. There was a man called a "fairyman" in another part of the country. This man was supposed to be in league with the fairies. The man whose stock was sick sent to this man to ask him what he should do. The fairyman told him to go home and throw down the fence again and all would be well. He did this and after a short time all the animals were as well as ever. People passing there late at night have often heard the music of fiddles playing. There are other raths in Moanmore and people saw funeral processions going in to them(continues on next page)
