    on the faces of human beings, or on the udders of cows, and Felons were like anthrax on the fingers. The cure for both was made from almost the same ingredients - viz., Felon grass, rue, house-leek, marsh mallow, and unsalted butter or lard, which was pounded together, fried, the resulting liquid strained through muslin and allowed to cool, forming an ointment.
