The cure for both was made from almost the same ingredients - viz., Felon grass, rue, house-leek, marsh mallow, and unsalted butter or lard, which was pounded together, fried, the resulting liquid strained through muslin and allowed to cool, forming an ointment.
Sheila Foley, 3 Montgomery Street, Carlow - In the old graveyard in Clonmore there is a tombstone to the memory of a Father Dugan whose death took place on Wednesday, 28th January 1767 at the age of 40.
