    Father Dugan's death I heard from an old man, aged 67, whose father still living, is over 100 years old, and from whom he heard the story. It appears that Father Dugan with some others were in a house in Stratnakelly. Before leaving this house he had a heated discussion on religious matters with a protestant named Strahan. both he and Strahan left the house together to go home, Strahan, as was then the custom, sitting behind Father Dugan on the pillion of the saddle. Next morning the priest was found dead by the roadside near Knockatomcoyle cross roads, and as Strahan was the last man known to have been in his company, he was arrested and committed for trial at Wicklow. Before the trial took place, the spirit of the priest appeared to his brother, who lived in Queen's County, and told him that Strahan had nothing whatever to do
