    They have a rhyme which they say in every house
    "The wren, the wren, the King of all birds
    St Stephen's day she was caught in the furze.
    Although she is little, her family is great
    Get up young ladies & give her a treat.
    Up with the kettle & down with pan.
    A penny or two-pence to bury the wren.
    All coppers, no brass, give us the price of a half a glass."
    They spend the money which they get upon sweets & other things.
