  1. It is said that the people of olden times did not wear boots till they were about twenty years of age and some people in olden times never wore a boot.
    At the present time the children generally go in their bare feet in the Summer time, but no matter how poor a person would be he would have some sort of boots on in the winter.
    It is said that it is not lucky to keep water in which you wash your feet in the house at night.
    There are four boot makers in the town of Tullow and all their parents and grandparents were boot makes also.
    Clogs were made in Tullow a long time ago but they are not made at the present time.
