- The footsteps of a much travelled man, grew slower and heavier, as he onwards went a route, unknown and strange wishing, for it was also very late at night, a hay shed or some quiet place was nigh where a few hours rest would re-energize his weakened body. It was dark, yet, through the shadows he spied what seemed to be a small dwelling. On approaching this he discovered the only door by which he could enter was secured. A window had to serve as such and through this he scrooged, glad to be, at least, where wind, wet and cold was not so severe. Pawing round in the dark - he even had no match - a bench or stone seat was located. On this he flapped his weary bones and slept. How long he cared not until a sound nearby awoke him.
