- St. John's Day is on the 24th June. In olden days and up to the present day in some places people light a bonfire in his honour. When the fire would have died down the people would take two fistfulls of ashes each and spread some in each of their fields and pray to St. John to bless their crops.

- On St. John's Night the people used to hang a piece of paper on the door and write a prayer on it in honour of St. John, and leave it until the next night.
