    10. Chilblains:-
    (a) Rub paraffin oil on the chilblains, before the fire.
    (b) Wet washing-soda, and rub on them.
    (c) Rub them with an onion (cut) and dry at the fire.
    (d) Mix Vaseline and mustard into an ointment, and put on the chilblains.
    (e) Rub with a raw onion and salt.
    (f) Rub with a cut potato and salt.
    11. Blast:-
    If you have a swelling on your face or hand or any part of your body, and if anyone remarks that it is a blast, you must use "blast-save ointment"
    Blast ointment is made from herbs:- elder-leaves, briar-leaves, rag-weed, chicken weed, dandelion and fresh butter.
