- Food in the olden times
Long ago the people ate rougher food than they do now. They did not drink much tea then. There was no bread eaten then but oaten cakes. The cakes were baked on griddles put in front of the fire. There were no ovens or bake pans then. Long ago the people ate nothing on fast days but bread and jam and tea and they ate nothing till after twelve o clock.
Long ago (their) the people got their breakfast at eight o clock. They used to work for an hour before their breakfast. The people ate their supper at six o clockLeisha Byrne
