    About thirty six years ago there was a great thunder storm in the district. It did some damage in the district. There were three cattle standing unde a big tree in a field in Greenhall. The lightening came rolling down along the tree and when it came to the bottom of the tree it struck the cattle and killed them. The name of the man that owned the was Mr Griffin. In the year of 1859 there was a big snowfall and the houses were all covered with snow. There were a great deal of sheep lost in Ballygrahan. The cows and horses were all covered with snow. The sheep were not found till it had all cleared.away and then they were dead. There were drifts and they were very high. It lasted for six weeks or more.
