  1. About half a mile form New Bridge Church in the townland of Shass it is said that a crock of gold is hidden . Four men of the district named Joe Cullen, Francis Carrigan , Michael Carrigan , and also James McNiff tried to unearth it but failed. They started early in the morning to find it and worked hard during the day.
There was a high mound of stones over the spot and when night came there were as much there as if they never lifted one. No body ever tried to unearth it since. A brown goat was seen playing there at late hours of the night and lights were seen also.
