- There is a well in Ballinvalley near Oldcastle called 'Tobar Launa'. It is situated at the foot of sliav na Cuilleagh. Tradition has that in ancient times this was a well of milk. But the people were so greedy in carrying it away in all sorts of ways and being too lavish with it that it suddenly changed to water. The principal cure attached to it is the cure of warts both on man and beast and the person carrying away the water had to leave something behind and people generally left pins, needles and nails at the bottom of the well.
