    A man named Pat Dolan was evicted by Bell and in revenge planned to kill him.
    He met him out the Cavan road coming from church, and asked him the time. As Bell was taking out his watch Dolan stepped behind him and shot him.
    When the Protestants heard this there was war between them and the Catholics.
    A priest swore that no man would leave a hand on Dolan and he hid him behind a ditch. An elm tree sprung up there and no matter how often it is cut down
