Come all you men of Cavan, Assemble at the moare of Castlevahan

Come all you men of Cavan,
Assemble at the moate of Castlerahan
    Your country for to right,
Around this moate where the Danes in past ages,
To conquer those tyrants did fight,
    With Father OConnell from Castlerahan
Come here in your thousands to day,
And show your selves true Irish heroes,
    Till England gives Ireland fairplay,

To Mountnugent they marched by his shoulder
    Determined their country to save,
But no heroes on earth could, prove braver
