There was a pedlar in Ballyjamesduff known as "Scottie," who came here, when the Great War was in progress, and the old people took great interest in his stories. He used to go on foot through the counties of Cavan and Meath and all the people used to like him well. He was a native of Scotland, and he died a few weeks ago. - There are a lot of travelling people around my district, but there are not as many now, as there were long ago.
