- There is a field in the townland of Ramonan near Ballyjamesduff. It got the name of the wild geese. It got its name long ago.
Priests used to say mass at a small rock in that field, and when mass would be over, the people would run home quickly because they were afraid that if the English soldiers caught them at mass they would kill them.
So that is why it was called the "Wild geese" field. - What part of a steam roller goes into the town first.? Ans The noise of it.(continues on next page)
