   well is, a great many boys are called "Kilian."

   Our church is St Kilian's Church and there is a picture painted on the ceiling of the church of a bishop. The people believe it is a picture of St Kilian.

   When sun goes down in a "crows nest", we will have a wet next day. A "broken rainbow" is a sign of showery weather. When a cat sits with his back to the fire, it is a sign of storm - usually snow. If an ass "brays", it is a sign of rain. A very blue flame in the fire, is a sign of snow and frost. When soot falls down it is a sign of rain. A "blow-down" of smoke foretells rain. When a cat scrapes a stick, a door, or any wood, it is a sign of storm.
