- Funeral Customs
It is supposed to be a good sign (of where the person went) if rain falls on the coffin as it is being carried to the graveyard- "happy is the corpse that the rain rains on."
If the corpse does not stiffe it is said to be a sign of another death in the family soon.
It is spposed to be unlucky to bring a spade or shovel out of the house where the corpse is-spade or shovel must be borrowed.
If a funeral is "scattered" -that is a big break between the cars following- it is supposed to be a sign.(continues on next page)
