    until the kiln was filled. The fire was then started under the grate and burned up to the top of the kiln. When the lime was burned it slackened out. Then one bar was taken out and the lime fell down.
    There was a kiln in every few townlands. There is one in our field. There is a kiln at Larry Gillick's Lisnagirl, at Brady's Lisnagirl and one at Stook Hill.
    Each kiln served about a dozen farmers in the locality. Frank Cooney Greaghadusson drew lime for other farmers for wages. The farmers used scatter the lime to make the soil rich and to kill diseases.
