    Stars. When the stars slide it is a sign of rain. When they sparkle frost may be expected. A great number of stars in the sky on a winter's night betokens rain.
    Clouds. A mist on the mountain - top is a sign of rain.
    Black clouds are a sign of snow.
    Insects. Insects in clusters near the ground is a sign of rain.
