  1. A common game in this district is skiddles. It is played with five sticks about four inches long and one and a half inches in diamenter, and three sticks about two feet long. These are placed on the ground ; one at each corner of a square, and one in the centre. Each side of the square should be about three feet apart. The person who is playing stands ten yards away and aims each of the three long sticks at the standing ones. If he knocks the middle stick he has gained ten points, and if he knocks any one of the other four he has gained five points. The player who reaches 100 points first wins the game.
