- Another custom was to make a doll, dress it with May-flowers and put it up on May Eve. Then a fire was lit and the people would gather and dance around the fire. This custom was called May babies.
If you wash your face in the dew off the grass on May morning and wipe your face on a towel that was never woven or spun (that is dry yourself in the sun)(continues on next page)
