- There used to be a factory down at the Vale School. It is gone into ruins now. A man mamed Simpson owned it. It was a woollen factory. He had a lot of girls working in it.
They spun tweed and other cloths in it. He paid the girls to the amount of work they did.
They did a great trade until Simpson died. Then it was taken over by a Company. Other mills sprung up at Navan and at other places and they took a good deal of(continues on next page)- Collector
