  1. Long ago fairs were held on crossroads or up on hillsides. Muff is an ancient place where fairs are held. It is in a field beside Muff crossroads. It is mostly horses that are sold at it now and it is held once a year on the 12th of August.
    There does be people selling drink at it and lemonade and oranges and apples and sweets. The people have tents up who sell these things because if it rained the things would be destroyed.
    There used to be a dancing deck at it and a lot of yankees go and dance
