    Likewise to the black thorn,
    Farewell unto the Lough-In-Lea,
    Its round there I was born,
    Many a pleasant hour I spent,
    In joy and sweet array.
    Going plucking the wild billberries.
    That deck the Lough-In-Lea

    In the Summer month of sweet July,
    When all nature it is gay,
    The boys and girls from far and near.
    Around it they do stray,
    They'd join in our chorus,
    Sweet music and array,
    And roll among the heather,
    That decks the Lough-in-lea.
