- Bread Long ago the old people made bread out of wheaten meal and potatoes it was called potato bread. They never made bread out of flour long ago. I often ate potato bread.
The people made the bread with buttermilk or sometimes with water when they had no buttermilk. The people nowadays never heard of querns or grind stones.(continues on next page)
