On Shrove Tuesday night a pot of potatoes was boiled and a pan of bacon was fried and each person in the house ate as much as they could of it. At that time no no one ate any flesh meat during the seven weeks of Lent.
On Easter Sunday morning a pot of eggs was boiled and eaten. Sometimes people often ate a half dozen of eggs to their breakfast on this morning and in the evening the children lighted fires outside and they boiled eggs and ate them. They called this a cludog.
