- (continued from previous page)which indicates to a person passing by the trade which is carried on there. There is but one fireplace in this forge. This is situated higher up than the floor of the forge. Behind this fire there are very large bellows. Near the fireplace there is a large stone through for holding water to cool the iron. There is an anvil on a large block near the fireplace. There is only one forge in this district in which ploughs are made. The blacksmith's name is Peter Reilly. He has only made a few ploughs but they have been very successful. The blacksmith is always thought to be very strong. His hands face and cloths are always black with coal.
