The man who worked Coppenaugh Mills for the owner was named James Greene. One night in the working season of their mill he was coming home late, from playing cards past the mill. Everything was going full swing, the water wheel was turning, the mill was lighted and the machinery working. He was surprised at this because he had the hays of the mill in his pocket. he heard talk and he went to the mill door. He shouted in to have some meal for him in the morning. When he returned next morning he found the chest into which the malt falls into, full of cuchogs - or blackheads.
