“Once there lived a man who offered a sheep in honour of St. Martin every St Martin's Eve.”
(continued from previous page)Eve he was still in prison and had nothing to offer. Late that night a light shone on the doorway and a man riding a milk-white horse came in. He got up behind and was driven out of the prison up to his own door where he found a sheep and three lambs. He offered the sheep in honour of St. Martin as he knew it was he that saved him from prison. When the other three lambs grew into sheep he sold them and before many years he was as prosperous as ever.- Collector
