- Old Houses
In olden times the houses were all thatched with rushes. there were generally three rooms in those houses. Two of these were for cattle and pigs. When a cow calfed she was always brought into the house. In those houses there was a place in the corner for the bed.
Ther was a stick across from one side of the fireplace to the other, and then there was a piece of wire for holding up the pots and pans. There was only one fireplace in those old houses
