    At one of the entrances to the castle there is a lodge in front of which is an angel with a trumpet facing towards the graveyard. On each side of the lodge is a statue, one of the Duke of Wellington & the other of Lord Nelson.
    There is a cave beginning at the ice house, running along under the lake and finishing at the castle yard. It is said that long ago, when the Chapmans used to hunt; they drove the deer into this cave, certain dogs followed them until they came out into the enclosure of the yard where they were easily caught.
